1914-1925 Bandiera del Principato d'Albania
The Albanian flag is a red flag with a black eagle with two heads in the middle. It comes from similar seal of Skanderbeg, Albanian hero of the fifteenth century, who led the revolt against the Ottoman Empire that resulted in a brief independence of Albania, from 1443 to 1478. The current flag was adopted officially on April 7, but the flags earlier, the Kingdom of Albania and that of post-war communist rule, were virtually identical. The first bore the helmet of Scanderbeg above the eagle, while the second had a red star edged with yellow.
