Pristina is the capital and the largest administrative, economic, cultural and centre of Kosova, its suburbs have a total population of over 500,000. However, the population of Pristina has increased after the Interim Administration of the United Nations took over. Because of the war that cause the destruction of homes and increased the unemployment rate, many Kosovars from other cities of Kosovo are moved to Pristina. The city of Pristina has a long history in its vicinity archaeological discoveries have been found dating back to the early neolithical age. The most interesting archaeological artifacts were revealed in the southern part of the city where the ancient city of Ulpian. Ulpiana was established by the Dardanian Emperor Trajan in the second century AD during the rule of Justinian, Ulpiana was seen as Iustiana Secunda. Among Dardanian Ulpiana was known as Ulpiana Splendissima. Near the resort were found remains Illyrians as jewellery, coins or currency, variety of weapons, etc. After the arrival of Slavic people in the Balkan Peninsula, including many cities and Ulpiano were destroyed. From barbarians gypsies Slavs from Russia continued their distraction of artifacts Illyrian.
