KORCA
It is the largest city in the south-eastern Albania. It is situated on the slopes of the mountain of Morava, 800 meters above sea level, has become an important centre industry and commerce in the eighteenth century, because of the development of trade with neighbouring regions. A Korça is the Museum of Medieval Art, which represents the culture of the Albanian people. There are also the National Museum of Education, where on 7 March 1887 was opened the first school of Albanian language and also the new museum "Collections of Bratko" with antiques from the Far East

Korça is the city's main south-eastern region and is situated on a plateau of 869 but west of Florina (Greece), 39 km south of Lake Ohrid. It is the centre of production of carpets largest in Albania since the Greek. In town there are interesting museums, including the Muzeu Artet Mesjetar Shqiptar, Muzeu Historik and the Muzeu Arsimit Kombëtar (Museum of Education). Most of the ancient city was destroyed by the earthquakes of 1931 and 1960, which beat minarets and churches, nevertheless, a little 'colour of Korça remains in the bazaar to the west of Illyria.
